Handy comparison between the Apollo's command module and Orion. Orion is slightly taller and four feet wider. Habitable volume = 210ft^3 vs 314ft^3

I worked with Senator @DavidShoebridge to get the Senate to vote on whether to overturn the major parties' decision to reduce scrutiny and transparency around major defence projects. The senate agreed that the Auditor General should continue to look at major projects. 🇦🇺 is committing huge money on major acquisitions - it’s essential there is proper scrutiny. The government must fully fund the ANAO to do its job. We need to ensure spending delivers the capability our defence personnel need. canberratimes.com.au/story/9212682/…

Tesla doesn't recongise Trade Unions. Apple doesn't recognise unions. Amazon is anti-union. McDonald's is anti-union. Starbucks is anti-union. Google is anti-union. Walmart is anti-union. These mega businesses are not on your side.

America has a Senate. Australia has a Senate. Canada has a Senate. Most democracies have two chambers - one elected, one providing scrutiny. Why does Britain still have 800 unelected lords? Should we finally build a democratic second chamber?

Senior sources in the government said Albanese had firmed in his thinking to plough ahead with changes to capital gains and negative gearing budget. Since the war broke out, some had feared Albanese would back away from tax changes as voters’ mood soured theage.com.au/politics/feder…

@AlboMP In glad you prefixed it with "for Christians". Note, apart from the heathens, we nearly all were once. I wonder what changed?

@SeverusofPot01 @GSGB01 You'd prefer an Australian politician to install an old Australian politician to be our head of state? Noooooooo.

@GSGB01 He is NO KING and never was! He is a 3rd Rate Buffoon and an embarrassment to the UK!! If he was a MAN he would abdicate but he has NEVER been a Man...he has lived off his Mother his entire Life and now disgraces her through his betrayal of the Country the Queen so dearly loved!

@haugejostein Socialism. Pfft. Norway, 'cause it charges the world for its resources and invests it wisely. Australia gives it all away and anything it gets, it pisses up against a socialst wall of handouts. Time for an export tax on all non-renewable resources & creation of a sovereign fund.

It's socialism — not capitalism — that creates prosperity. Norway has one of the strongest welfare systems in the world. In Singapore, most people live in housing built by the government. In Luxembourg, social spending as a share of GDP is among the highest in the EU. Most countries that score well on this chart do so because they have socialist policies in place that increase social mobility and reduce economic precariousness.

This is 100% correct. Whilst you can criticise the lack of ambition of some if not many of our politicians and some mistakes have inevitably been made, Australia’s state capacity is very high. Garbage gets collected. Roads get fixed. Disasters are dealt with. It just works.
EVCircles@EVCircles

That’s not a political post. Whoever is in charge, the place works well. Services work. Things get done. You can get what you need. It’s a high-trust society. Yeah I could tell you 50 things that need improving but if you think Australia is broken, you’re wrong.

0c kWh in Melbourne right now, and super cheap all day. The car is charging, the dishwasher is on, and the beef short ribs are about to go in the oven for 4-5 hours. Thankful for having renewables pushing down prices. Oil will never do this.
