@lagomsensei @pambizbuster I remember millennials moaning a lot then quite a few of them inherited and everything went quiet until Z got old enough to moan. I would like to live long enough for silence to descend from Z.
English

@pambizbuster However I do moan about the younger generations as they seem to have a hive mentality. Have little critical thinking and zero resilience…it’s always someone else’s fault that they can punch down on.
English

Fed up of seeing tweets making sweeping statements & complaints about #Boomers
We are not an homogeneous mass, we don't all live our lives the same, are not all in the same position, have not all had the same life opportunities
Its as stupid as me moaning about all 37 year olds

I told myself I’d clear the desk before bed.
This is as far as I got.

@BetteDavis1959 @CGSLtd @KathyParr101 Tumbleweed while Barry works out where he wants the line to be drawn.
English

@CGSLtd @KathyParr101 Will you refuse your state pension then
English

@Jo30780322 @BetteDavis1959 @KathyParr101 This is why the whole argument is nonsense, Jo. Anything given via triple lock will be taken away with the other hand as tax levels and the £16k savings benefits ceiling remain static. Add the 1981 CGT level + summary pension age increases and we’ve already had daylight robbery.
English

@BetteDavis1959 @KathyParr101 Thats not what I,m saying what I meant was we are not getting a great big increase as we are having to pay tax. Pensioners on pension credits get full amount tax free as it should be
English

@EchoesOfGr @annaroseridgway @spicymutant @sjferrington I had a whole convo yesterday with an anti-oldie who announced at the end that she’d never actually paid any tax 😂
Where do you even start with these people.
English

@annaroseridgway @spicymutant @sjferrington We’d want the NI repayments index-linked to present values. Thanks!
English

@spicymutant @sjferrington I don't work at the treasury Paul

@TIME If you’re struggling this much with the concept of women’s sport, ask yourself why this isn’t a problem for men’s sport and work from there.
English

@wee_cuppa @DaraghCassidy The CTA is a big part of this. There should be a thorough review for its continued relevance. The NI route also needs attention.
English

@DaraghCassidy “I’m not sure why he was here in the first place” your not the only one, apparently they have no idea how he got into the country
English

This man has only been in Ireland 2 years. He has 2 previous convictions for public order offences & has already received a 7-month suspended sentence for carrying a knife. Now this. I'm not sure why he was here in the first place. But he's had his chances & should be deported.

@YesterdaysBrit1 I remember buying baggies, as we called them, just like the ones on the right.
My mum wordlessly took them back to the shop.
English

@_Harriet90 @catholicdoomer @SandyofSuffolk I’ll help you.
For the ratio to make any sense, you’d have to work out the present value of the circle on the left, or the past value of the circle on the right.
Otherwise it’s just an annoying drawing.
English

@_Harriet90 @catholicdoomer @SandyofSuffolk Explain the £ amounts to me. Not as a ratio, I know what that is, but as what they are supposed to represent in this diagram.
English

@_Harriet90 @catholicdoomer @SandyofSuffolk Yes I do, so I repeat, the circle on the left will always be smaller than the circle on the right. It doesn’t represent a lesser contribution. It represents the past.
This diagram is used as some kind of gotcha. That’s obviously wrong.
English

@ajusted @catholicdoomer @SandyofSuffolk Do you understand how public spending works? Your tax and national insurance contributions are spent the same financial year they were paid. You aren’t paying for your retirement, you’re paying for pensioners and everyone else receiving benefits this year.
English

@_Harriet90 @catholicdoomer @SandyofSuffolk So you understand the circle on the left will always be bigger than the circle on the right? That it doesn’t represent a lesser contribution, but a different time?
English

@ajusted @catholicdoomer @SandyofSuffolk I know, I’ve had to help my grandchildren with “what gran bought with her pocket money” school projects
English

@ajusted @catholicdoomer @SandyofSuffolk Are you trying to be patronising? You aren’t very good at it. You also might want to re read what you posted
English

@_Harriet90 @catholicdoomer @SandyofSuffolk Also - newsflash - things long ago may seem cheap, but they weren’t at the time!
English

@_Harriet90 @catholicdoomer @SandyofSuffolk That’s just NI dearie, you’re the ones telling us all there isn’t an NI pot.
My last few years’ contributions will cover my costs, and some 😄
