@nielsonTSN1260 NOOOOO. Not this year. Maybe in 3 years when cossa has played a couple seasons. This year we need a top end goalie! Just like the last 10 years, we keep saying we need a top tier reliable goalie.

Looks like the plan between the pipes for the Oilers will be Jarry and Cossa.....does that get the job done?

Jakub Dobes of the Habs had a .910 save percentage in the AHL last year at age 23. This year Connor Ungar, then 23, in the Oilers system had a .923 save percentage in the AHL. The Habs promoted Dobes. The Oilers sent Ungar to the ECHL after his AHL stint.

From NHL perspective, the league feels the Vegas response to date is consistent with the team’s existing contractual rights, as well as with established league policy. So, it remains very much up to the VGK if and when teams can talk to Cassidy while he's under contract.

If the Oilers plan all along was to let Knoblauch go, then their handling of this has been horrendous. If they wanted to explore Cassidy as an option, and if it didn’t work out retain Kris, then it was risky - if it got out, they’d be scuttling a coach they just re-signed and were considering keeping. The fact it got out made a return for Knoblauch impossible. Arguably the most important off season in 30 years for this franchise gets off to a rough start. Have to think Bowman and Jackson are very much on the clock as well. Fatigue and injuries only go so far in masking a body of work with some massive mistakes at critical junctures. Brett Kulak with a series winner last night puts an exclamation point on mishandled assets and mis-reads on players. Will be an interesting few months for the organization.

Is it crazy to think the Oilers off-season is just. Resign Dickinson, Kapanen and Murphy. Keep RFA’s Dach and Stastney Trade for Cossa. Sign one free agent forward.

I've defended the Oilers through every bad trade, signing, and mistake. But I woke up this morning thinking… in 11 years of the McDavid era, have the Oilers ever made a HUGE move where the rest of the league said: “Whoa… the Oilers are scary.” Yes, they were the best team in the league for stretches in 2025. Yes, they won 17 straight in 2024. But still never a top 3 overall team in the standings. Never a division winner...in the McDavid Era. And why does every season feel exactly the same? Slow start. Dig themselves a hole. Go on that southern states road trip and fade. Spend months trying to recover. Other fan bases never look at Edmonton like THE team to beat. It’s always the little moves. All these coaches. All these GMs. Same problems every year. PK struggles. Defensive structure breaks down. Still rolling Nurse out on the PK and of course goaltending. The best goaltending stretch of the McDavid era was Cam Talbot in 2016-17. Knoblauch says the stars need fewer minutes and the bottom six need bigger roles. We’ve heard that for years. But you didn't change it. Bowman says they’re not going to make a lot of moves. Every deadline, the top player available never ends up in Edmonton. The Oilers are never creative in a trade or signing. When do they finally go all in?

If this is what the #NHL is now, I think I’m done. How are actual bad teams supposed to improve? Toronto is one of the least deserving teams in the league. You have actual talent on the team. It’s not our fault you decide to lose trades and hire an idiot coach and GM. #NHLDraft

BREAKING: Gavin McKenna is expected to meet with State College Police tomorrow. The expectation is he request jail time instead of being drafted to the Maple Leafs.
