@loosepassive Suppose you have 88 on T53. When V folds KQ or A9, they aren't only losing the equity that comes from hitting a pair, they are also losing the value they would get from bluffing an value betting later. Sure, you could try to pick off the bluffs, but then you pay off the value.

"Equity denial" is another misleading poker term I've decided not to fight against. "EV denial" would be more accurate. You aren't only denying opponents the opportunity to improve or win at showdown, you're denying them opportunities to bluff and value bet. To OVERrealize equity

Most people believe you bet in poker to make worse hands call or deny equity. But I think this framework is incomplete. Broadly speaking, there are sources of EV that have less to do with hand strength and more to do with control. For example, you bet with a medium hand to fold out trash that would have bluffed you off the hand later.

I do keep a proactive list of audio queued up for times like commutes. Done a lot of books over time. Retention gets trained. Bookmarks and go back and take notes.
