@dawn__oh Someone made a post that said “Oh my god stop calling it collusion when I collude, it isn’t collusion!!”. I pointed out nicely that even though it’s accepted in mtg it IS collusion and does effect people and a bunch of people got wildly defensive about it

If you think scooping to a friend at an RCQ is collusion I can only assume you consider testing teams to be outside assistance

@dawn__oh I’ve played 4 in the last four years, I won three of them and lost in the finals of the fourth, I went to regionals once because magic Is a low ROI activity these days. The last pro tour I went to was 6 years ago, my first pt qualification was 23 years ago lol

@loosepassive @wildstwawberry Yep and I would've tried the *exact same* amount and beat him exactly the same even if I wasn't in it for my friend. What don't you get? He doesn't magically get a better chance at winning if I'm not helping my friend. He still has to get through me just the same

In a game about playing a card game and seeing who is better you think tipping the scales via unethical means is preferable as long as you benefit?

@ChefGreginald @GayOliveGarden @wildstwawberry I always have the same odds of making the top 8, assuming we are all equal skill, but your odds of making the top 8 have improved in some pairings (in reality it doesn’t really work out like this because it isn’t always 50/50), that means you are gaining an advantage from this

@wildstwawberry @ChefGreginald You go to your first PT and you spend 500 hours learning your deck and you get there and every match you have to play a grueling mirror but the guy who ends up winning got 19 scoops because he has more friends than you is the world you want to exist? That’s ideal?

@GayOliveGarden @ChefGreginald @wildstwawberry My god, this set of pairings was not the only possible set of pairings, there are other sets and all possible sets of parings must be considered. Are all of you people incapable of seeing how that works mathematically?

@loosepassive @ChefGreginald @wildstwawberry it gives the person being scooped to a chance at having a "free win" however it makes no difference to you (the person with no friends in this scenario) you still have to win your games no matter what your opponents are doing

I take my little brother to your local RCQ for his first tourney and you and the boys laughscooop him out of top 8 when all he did was play fair
