something i don’t think enough people realize yet is that there are chase cards in Azuki TCG that are illustrated by Arnold Tsang aka steamboy. over 100m people have played overwatch. there's an absurd amount of fans who have memories attached to characters like tracer, widow and genji, all designed by steamboy. arn is one of the most accomplished artists you’ll ever meet, and somehow one of the most humble and now he’s creating shao and telling her story with the azuki manga, and putting original art into the tcg before the broader manga fanbase gets here. obviously no one knows how big azuki will get. and that’s what makes this moment interesting because the story is still early while the artist is creating in public, and the collectible side hasn’t been fully understood yet. imagine being able to collect oda's art while he was drawing the early chapters of one piece, and hearing from him in real time as the world was taking shape. that’s what feels special to me about collecting azuki right now. it’s an exciting place to be.

When the world is buzzing with the news of NARUTO’s new card game, I always find myself quietly looking at my Dragon Ball cards. No matter how much the trend shifts, my core remains unchanged. It’s that pure excitement of DB. At the same time, I’m quietly rooting for the Azuki TCG project. Watching a Web3 anime IP challenge the giant established systems feels like watching a new wave approach an old shore.
