@junglemandan What's your thoughts on approaching study in terms of improving GTO but also adjusting for exploitative play? After 6 months of consistent GTO study, I've realized that it's a great fundamental base but can limit your ability and willingness to adjust to your oppoennt's flaws.

In poker, there are biases that populations follow. You can call these "hive minds," and if you can exploit them you will print money. There is the the recreational hive mind, there is the Chinese pro one, the Western pro one, and even the top pros have one. Real life actually works similarly, and it is difficult to escape group biases and status quo's. A notorious bias is that of Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, Democratic (WEIRD) culture. Supposedly an aspect of enlightenment is removal of all mind...

Sometimes you got to exploitatively consider letting go of KK. A min 5-bet following a min 4-bet at shallow stacks is one of those times.

I’ve been playing poker in Asia for 8 months now. The biggest difference between poker here and the rest of the world? Shot clocks. In everything. Cash games included. Night and day difference in enjoyment when people are forced to play within a reasonable time frame.

I almost never get recognized in Portugal by Portuguese which is odd cause a lot of my audience is from there and I live there, I guess cause the Portuguese tech talent left Portugal and just works elsewhere (like US, UK, etc) But I do get recognized in Brazil a lot in random places like here, so many entrepreneurs and devs here who are also on X, there's so much energy here of people building stuff it's really exciting This guy looked oddly Portuguese though which was funny

I just watched Marty Supreme for the first time tonight. Yes, I know I’m late to the party. As I sit here sipping on a full-bodied Bordeaux from France, an overwhelming thought took hold of me. Unwavering self-confidence is the only true line drawn between the average and the exceptional. There is a certain beautiful madness in those who win. An almost defiant conviction that they are destined for more, regardless of circumstance. Finance. Health. Fitness. Sport. It makes no difference. They decide who they are before the world has a chance to argue. Winners win because they believed in themselves long before there was evidence, applause, or permission. So go out there, be bold, be certain. Back yourself when it’s quiet and no one is watching. The world is rarely given. It is taken by those who move as though it already belongs to them.

Poker is the greatest game ever invented and there is simply no better country to play live poker in than Ireland. Excited to travel around the country and meet my fellow punters. Day to day I’ll still be grinding online and after a few months of playing across all the sites - I promise you - there ain’t softer games out there than on WPT Global. I have not seen the like of it since 2008! SEE YOU AT THE TABLES!

This region of Brazil is more livable than Rio or São Paulo. And it costs 1/3 as much. The city of Curitiba and the state of Paraná: - Mild climate, like the Pacific Northwest USA. 4 actual seasons. - The literal best infrastructure and public transit in South America. - Strong German and Italian roots. It's relaxed, clean, and genuinely safe. - $500-$700/month for a large, new 1br apartment in the best area of the city. Not to mention, the Serra do Mar mountain range and classic Brazil coastline are 1.5h from the city. incredible areas to explore. Go anytime, weekend trips cost nothing here. While everyone argues over Rio apartments, Curitiba and the state of Paraná are wide open. The best spot in Brazil to actually live cheap and safe.

@tombos21 If you assess that a player's skill level is much higher than yours, I believe this would be a good wager to take for a fraction of your chips. You're getting a 50/50 chance to get a portion of his chips whereas future plays may have lower odds due to the skill differential.

Thought experiment: You're on a final table of a major MTT. You get a one-time offer to flip a fair coin against any other player, for any amount of chips. You choose the player and the amount of chips to wager. Should you ever take that flip?
