@Steph_Rothstein I can’t wait to start tapering. One week to go!

@UltraRunner26 I really love my OpenRun headset. It’s not perfect, but it’s been a far superior experience to all other Bluetooth headphones I’ve used.
English

@kareem_carr I think what I find so jarring is that growing up and as a young adult, what I understood from the Republican Party was that character was all that mattered. The reversal has been swift, and complete.
English

@Predamame He’s very concerned about putting holes in his favorite running shirts.

@_nomadic_soul I’ve started scheduling meetings for Tuesday but know that I’m going to be basically useless during them.
English

@Predamame I just want to be faster tomorrow than I am today.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of what motivates a lot of runners.
They're not looking at Kenyan marathoners and saying "I want that physique". They're saying "I want to be fast like them."
Mikey@GaintrustMikey
Wanting a runners build as a man in his 20s/30s is some really weak energy.

@UltraRunner26 One thing I’ve been surprised by is how discomfort is a moving target. Last month’s very uncomfortable is this month’s a bit uncomfortable; but, without mental toughness, it can be hard to decide to push harder.
English

@stevemagness What’s a straightforward way to determine the boundaries of these zones?

Just learning what your stomach likes and doesn't like at different temps and paces is what I'm referring to. Lots of trying new things. You won't know what sounds good in an Ultra until your in it. I ran 100 miler once on pancakes, bacon and tailwind. Never practiced with the pancakes and bacon but it's what sounded good that day.
English

@UltraRunner26 When you say trial and error, are you referring to fueling strategy? (When) Or brands/types of fuel? (What) Or both?
I’ve settled on a brand; I’m not sure how much caffeine to plan for, though. I’m also up in the air re: carrying electrolyte+water or relying on aid stations.
English

@bretthmeyer Yup, now it comes down to fueling. Be sure to do lots of trial and error.
English

@UltraRunner26 I’m so excited, to be honest. The point of the race was a check-in for a marathon coming in December. Qualifying for Boston doesn’t feel so out of reach anymore!
English

@bretthmeyer That's a great time. I would be proud of that for sure.
English

@UltraRunner26 I’m I pressed by the ramp up after your ultra. Do you have any races on the calendar?
