Building a tool for a problem I’ve had myself for many years. Running growth solo, I’m the only person who ever checks my numbers before I bet on them. Who’s the last person who double-checked a number for you?

Your tracking can break, but the chart won't tell you. A broken number and a real one look identical until someone checks them. That check is what I’m building right now.

@eliana_jordan I think this has been the case for a few years. If you run Claude (my current LLM) in the CLI, most of the stuff you want to connect to or execute is in Bash or Python. Spot on @eliana_jordan :)

@pcshipp Since when have 4 days and nothing = you are doing badly? 712 eyeballs is not small at all. Keep up.

@pmitu Definitely a nice environment and vibe to be surrounded by, but I agree with you. This may be a small part of your success... still, the rest is up to you and your execution.

@TTrimoreau few types of people: 1. “Hey everyone/builders, what are you building today?" 2. “my startup explore 1000%, while i sleep. Soon to compete with Google." 3. "What LLM model do you use?" And so on and on and on...of the same stuff.

We need to accept the truth that the founder's way is lonely. Many people won’t admit it, but communities and social meetups just put people around you. At the end of the day, they don’t make the final calls... you do. And that’s the part we need to accept, not to fix.

Most underrated skill for a founder: the willingness to start over. First attempts rarely work. That’s where most people quit. Second and third attempts change the math entirely, not because the odds improve, but because you’ve stopped treating any single attempt as the whole story.

if you are building a marketplace, read “the cold start problem” probably one of the best books i’ve read about marketplaces and network effects. biggest lesson: you don’t need everyone at the beginning you just need a small group that really cares

@KaiXCreator There is never one universal answer to that question. It depends on your product, market, ICP, budget (if you want to go with ads), etc.

Open your analytics now. Find one metric that matters and check it regularly. Ask yourself: Who set this up, how is it calculated, and when was it last reviewed? Most of you can’t answer all three questions. Some of you can’t answer any of them.

Every analytics setup I’ve ever audited had the same issue. A metric that’s been in the dashboard for years that nobody can explain. Set up by someone who left in 2023. Touched by an agency that swapped firms. Renamed once during a reorg. It’s still in the weekly report. Still in the board deck. Still in someone’s KPIs. Nobody knows how it’s calculated, and nobody is allowed to remove it. It’s still in the weekly report, the board deck, and someone’s KPIs. Half of your “data-driven” decisions are downstream of a figure like this.

The most expensive sound in startups is a founder saying “we’re up by this month 12%” in a voice that doesn’t match their expression.
