Honored to receive my 1st independent R01 grant from @NIDDKgov to study how environmental exposures impact stem cells, aging, and clonal hematopoiesis.
I’m now looking for a faculty position to establish my lab. Grateful to my mentor @Amitvermamds for the support.

"Yay, we finally did it! took a while, but we got there. I actually started this ~2.5 yrs ago, it didn’t work out, so I put it on pause and chased something else. Came back to it, and solved it!" @AlexanderSobol6 @MariaKarela3 @LauraYen

Happy to share structures of kainate receptor channel GluK2 in complex with auxiliary subunits Neto2, which slow receptor kinetics, in apo closed and open conducting states, both with 2-fold symmetrical LBD layer! @shantigangwar @MariaKarela3 @LauraYen42 nature.com/articles/s4159…

Excited to share the cryo-EM structures of the kainate receptor with PAM (BPAM344) and NAM (perampanel). BPAM344 binds at the LBD dimer interface and perampanel binds at the ion channel extracellular collar. @LauraYen42 @MariaKarela3 @AlexanderSobol6 @CellReports
