Many Israelis agreed with this on October 6, 2023. Now very few do. And Israel is a democracy, so the people get a veto. International pressure didn’t work with Gaza, and it won’t work for this—once The New York Times accuses you of training rape dogs, who cares anymore? So it won’t happen this century, not until the survivors of October 7 are all dead. It is long past time for a new paradigm. It's not even a matter of liking or disliking the idea, as a practical matter it is impossible.
