NEW PUBLICATION 📜Multi-Energy versus Single-Energy CTA for Endoleak Detection 🔹Higher image quality and comparable diagnostic accuracy of low kV single energy as compared with 50keV virtual monoE imaging for endoleak detection at CTA after EVAR ⛓️doi.org/10.1148/ryct.2…

@TheImagingWire FYI this is not a "Nature" study, the journal's name is "Scientific Reports", which is basically the PLOS ONE of the Nature publishing group.

We spend a lot of time exploring the technical aspects of imaging AI, but little is known about how physicians are actually influenced by AI. A new Nature study addresses that knowledge gap, perhaps more directly than any other research to date. bit.ly/3I5gljr

Imagine you submit a photon counting CT paper to Radiology. And you receive a reviewer comment that Photon-couting CT is not commercially available. What would you do? Asking for a friend...

@becker_rad Always working on my wordsmithing for things like this, especially renal subcentimeter hypodensities on CT (TSTCs as some of my attendings call them). What's your verbage?

Radiology reporting tip for #Radres Do not write that a finding "statistically likely" represents something. You're evaluating an individual, not a population. If the findings are equivocal, you should say so. Verbosity and clarity always beats brevity and ambiguity.

A lot of people bring up the aspect of protection in case of lawsuits. Vague👏reporting👏won't👏protect👏you I'm not saying be overconfident. Be helpful. Use a lexicon with an agreed-upon rough probability meaning, such as this:

Radiology reporting tip for #Radres Do not use the term "cannot be excluded". You can never exclude anything. That is not the radiologists' job. Our job is to describe the findings and assign a likelihood for something to be present or absent, based on history and imaging.

This is disappointing to see at European Radiology Last time I submitted to a single-blinded journal, a reviewer unabashedly challenged our choice of co-authors This will make it hard for some to get a fair shake

@becker_rad Yes, I wish the concept of biorhythm would be taken more into account when it comes to productivity... especially in medicine

Interested to learn about technical principles and optimization of CT protocols, multi-energy and photon-counting CT in abdominal imaging (and earn 13 CME in the process)? Looking forward to this virtual workshop by @ESGAR on 15/16th of December! bit.ly/3V1jVyI

@becker_rad I agree. Isn't it convenient to have a radiologist as an expert to trust? Or should we radiologists now start to go to the OR?

📝doi.org/10.23736/s2724… "This survey highlights the need for [...] formal training in prostate MRI reading and interpretation during urology residency" This will come at the cost of other training opportunities. Aren't e.g. surgical skills more important?
