Breaking. A mentally ill man being treated in Seattle, who has a documented history of violent incidents has now been arrested for attempted murder for trying to push a man into the oncoming train. His previous charges were dismissed because of his mental health status. In 2019, he was charged with second-degree assault after allegedly stabbing his sister in the stomach, and in 2018, he reportedly attacked a woman inside a church without warning. Both cases were later dismissed after he was found not competent to stand trial and not restorable. In 2021, he was civilly committed to Western State Hospital, but he was released in January 2022 to a less restrictive alternative after state officials determined his condition had improved. Reports also indicate he has a long history of serious mental illness, including schizophrenia.
