Oof #LibraryTwitter . I’m seeing white librarians here and on other platforms sharing that their workplaces are safe and welcoming for minority groups and while *you* may think that, it’s not your declaration to make.

To the white man who barely stopped at the light I was crossing who said my flipping him off wasn’t very Christian - Jesus wouldn’t have been indignant. It’s really interesting how people who demonstrate such selfishness scream the loudest about religion.

@fivefootsmall I've done conference planning before. It's very taxing. Volunteers on that assignment have virtually no time for any other volunteer work

When I talk abt librarians doing conferences more for their social lives than to create change a perfect example is BCALA planning NCAAL. There's not enough time for working librarians to plan a conference & help LIS workers w racial grievances. See which agenda was prioritized

If a board president has to constantly check with legal to make sure they’re following Robert’s Rules a waste of taxpayer dollars. An 800+ page book is a lot to read but at ~$15 on Amazon is cheaper than consulting a lawyer to tell you what to do if something passed in committee

It's funny what sets off grief. I was looking for a document in my Google Drive and I saw a shared document from 2014. Lauren asked me for suggestions on the essay she wrote when applying to library school. I cannot explain the hole that exists in my life where she was.

"All That" was 1 of those 90s kids phenomena that I missed out on and regret that I did. I wasn't out doing stuff on Saturday nights mind you. I was the kid who watched Cops & America's Most Wanted on Saturday nights, even in elementary school. I wasted my childhood 🤦🏾‍♂️
