Carbon pricing adds costs at every step of food production:
• Fertilizer production
• Diesel for equipment
• Crop inputs
• Transportation
Farmers feel it first but everyone pays through higher food prices.
And it puts Canadian farmers behind competitors who don’t face the same costs.
An independent Alberta will not have carbon taxes.

This shouldn’t be a partisan issue. It’s a project that will change Canada for the better.

I drive past this worksite every day. The City and its contractors threw everything they had at this repair job. Congratulations to everyone involved. The federal government should be taking the same approach to building pipe to the oceans.

Over the past few weeks, crews have worked around the clock (through snow and shine), to make the necessary reinforcement repairs to the Bearspaw Feeder Main. Calgarians really stepped up by saving water - helping crews keep the work moving and getting us to the point where restrictions could be lifted today. ➡️So what’s next? April 9-11: a mechanical pipe diver device will be doing an inspection on the Bearspaw South Feeder Main, but we don’t anticipate water restrictions being required. Even though the reinforcement work is done, there’s still a risk of another break until the new pipe is in place at the end of the year. We’ll also be doing another planned feeder main shutdown this fall as we bring the replacement pipe online. We’ll share more details in the coming months, including what to expect and water restrictions that will be required. Thank you again to everyone who made those water-saving changes. You are all water heroes.💧🦸
