the last thing ill say about the valko situation is that there is no artistic merit in a story that changes based on player whims. LaDS will never produce anything worth staying for. you may as well AI generate the rest of the story, that's how worthless their artistic merit is.

@littleststaramy sorry, but this is just not how companies of this size and value work. there are all kinds of investors and money involved that we will never know about exchanging hands behind closed doors. major decisions are based around investor/corporate input, not consumer.

@halmarutt The devs did not throw millions of dollars in development investments in the trash for funsies. They did it because of consumer feedback. That feedback came from players. So, yes, they are also to blame for this.

i think it's ultimately unproductive to blame other people in the fandom still because at the end of the day it's still the company's decision. in fact, i don't think it's a stretch to say that it's partially intentional for infold to want us to blame anyone but them for it.

@littleststaramy framing it this way gives consumers more power than they actually have vs a company. again, LaDS is not the only game in the world, let alone in the CN otome space, that has a toxic fandom. LaDS has no artistic merit from a dev standpoint, so that's why the decision was made.

@halmarutt Their toxicity played a role in the decision, though. They're celebrating when there's been no material improvements to the game. In fact, the game is worse, and this will only teach the devs that we don't actually want a good game, we want pandered trash.

@littleststaramy i'm bringing up bigotry because they're the most inexcusable of the backlash. i mean backlash in general. unless ppg got hacked, it's their fault & responsibility for the current situation. so it'd be most productive to focus on them, not on the ppl who have no executive power.

@halmarutt This would maybe be a legitimate argument if the bulk of what I saw from global players was homophobic and racist in nature, but it wasn't. Game devs suck all the time and fandoms remain united. This schism is the fault of players who put pixels before people.
