Sony is reportedly working on its own dedicated PC launcher for PlayStation games.

Very good breakdown of DLSS5 I was for sure misled with their marketing talking points as I was assuming they were taking material data...But it may literally just be predicting motion vector paths "2d". Not what I thought it would be for sure

@pesuhardar I'm all about games being fun first & foremost, creative vision really just comes from passion of making the project. Honestly like most things; if it's new or different there will be backlash as most things in the gaming community.

Can we also just slow it down with the whole "artistic" or "creative vision"? Yes, a part of video games is art and creativity but games are also about having fun. People need to lighten up a bit.
And won't developers have control over how or even if they'll use this tech? I guess developers should listen to talking YouTube heads to know what is allowed in their "creative vision".

I guess I'm in the anomaly that thinks this is optional, and cool if you want to use it. Also fine if you don't? Sure you can argue artist original intent being changed, but considering the game companies are the ones backing this + it's not just Nvidia forcing this then 🤷♂️

You shouldn't be. Listen, I like DLSS. It's a marvel of modern computing. But this? This will make every game look like a crappy AI face filter was applied. It undermines all of the creative efforts of studios that work so hard designing characters and art. Actual abomination.

Both Phil and Sarah Bond were incredibly talented in what they did, disagree with their methods or not. Phil alone saved Xbox from the brink of death, and Sarah led many great initiatives.

I'm excited by what's ahead. I will share that after spending dedicated time this week with our new Gaming CEO, @asha_shar I’m incredibly optimistic about the opportunity ahead under her leadership. Asha is exceptionally bright, eager to listen and learn from others, no ego, but wants to get Xbox and gaming in a direction I’m personally incredibly inspired by. A brave bias for action that starts first with great games, the return to Xbox starting with the console and a vision for the future. Paired with Matt Booty in his expanded role leading all of our creative games and entertainment teams we are well positioned to do the work we need to do. As a long time team member and as someone who cares deeply about Xbox, our games, players and the future I’m encouraged and eager to help us on the path ahead.

Developers historically have always prioritized Sony & Nintendo, despite Xbox's hardware advantages. Nothing has changed.

Third party devs & publishers are likely now prioritizing PS5, PS5 Pro and Switch 2 since they’re now the largest, most important market share. At this point developing for XBox consoles becomes a liability, sucking up time & resources better invested elsewhere. And they know XBox gamers won’t buy games, expecting them to show up ‘free’ on Game Pass, thus choking ROI in XBox consoles.
