Triple H has moved Gunther from RAW to SmackDown because he probably does not have any storylines for Gunther on RAW, and I think it’s the best decision Triple H could have made. Gunther walked into WrestleMania 42 without a real, organic feud of his own. Let’s be honest - that Seth Rollins match was never truly about The Ring General. It was designed to kickstart the Seth vs. Bron Breakker program. Breakker’s interference helped Gunther get the W, but it left The Visionary feeling more like a stepping stone than the star of his own WrestleMania moment. Don’t get me wrong, Gunther’s resume is insane. He’s retired Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles in the last year. But after ‘Mania, RAW was completely packed: - Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu for the World Heavyweight Title - Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker already set for Backlash - Oba Femi cooking on a big main roster push - Multiple storylines already anchored and rolling There was literally nowhere for Gunther to slot in without it feeling forced. Keeping him on RAW would’ve been a creative dead end. Moving him to SmackDown? That’s how you give a star like Gunther fresh stuff and the biggest targets on day one. New brand, new rivalries, new chaos. This was the right call. The Ring General is too good to be spinning his wheels.

This is just perfect. Gunther vs Cody Rhodes at Backlash Tampa… and Gunther wins it. Feels like WWE knows Cody vs Randy doesn’t need a title that story is already big enough on its own. And yeah, this might finally be the real Gunther again. Not that weird phase after retiring legends… back to being dominant and serious. Still got two questions tho 🤔 Was this a Paul Heyman favor? And does this mean Roman Reigns vs Gunther isn’t happening anytime soon?

@left2reigns I think they’ll hold off on the match until Italy but I also think Gunther wins and they do Orton v Cody at SummerSlam without a belt. But who does Gunther face as the heel champ? Would love to run back Gunther vs Punk again

Dave Meltzer is concerned that WWE is overexposing Danhausen, and WWE could be burning him out: "I feel that Danhausen is great in small doses and Friday night’s show was not small doses. I think if you put a lot of him on the show it becomes a turn off. To be honest, most people that would be the case, but Danhausen it’s kind of like a one note gimmick and it was just so much on this show. When the show was half way over I was like, ‘They’re gonna burn this guy out.’ That type of a gimmick is gonna have a shelf life anyway and the key is to extend it as long as possible." Do you agree? Here me out: Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton at Backlash: Randy Orton loses again and tries to kick Cody in the head, but CM Punk comes out to stop him. This leads to a match between CM Punk and Randy Orton. Randy loses to CM Punk as well, and once again attempts to hit him with the kick, but Cody comes out to save Punk. This sets up a Triple Threat match at SummerSlam. At SummerSlam: Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton vs CM Punk. Randy Orton wins and becomes champion. Orton holds the title until the Royal Rumble, where Cody Rhodes wins it back. On the same night, CM Punk wins the Royal Rumble match. At WrestleMania: CM Punk vs Cody Rhodes CM Punk wins and becomes champion.
