The rider entered the intersection against the red as a car with the green light moved through. The collision sent him airborne before he came down hard on the roadway. EMS responded and transported him to the hospital.

Dear New Yorkers who have never seen dumpsters. Let me explain what this will do. 1. They will stink. They will get all kinds of gross liquid in them and they will stink. 24/7. Wait for the summer. That’s gonna be so charming. 2. Trash will pile up over and around them. Bc it ALWAYS does. 3. Parking way up. $$$$. I know you don’t think you care but it will cost someone more money which will be passed onto you. 4. These could easily bc homeless shelters. The trash will then be tossed on the streets. 5. Rats will find a way. It will smell like food to them at all times. It will attract them. 6. It’s going to cost a bunch of money. 7. It will be UGLY. And for those curious, Ken Griffen already paid $836,525 this fiscal year in property taxes for his four floors at 230 CPS. That amount will rise to at least $858,332 in July 2026, based on the same tax rate (which of course, will go up). He pays more property taxes for that apartment and uses fewer services than blocks and blocks of homes in the boroughs. Meanwhile the entire 18-unit co-op building at 740 Park paid $4,737,330 this year and is on track to pay at least $5,309,792 starting July 1, 2026.

@SaraEisen @NYCMayor Businesses dont make decisions based on feelings they follow incentives. If Griffin is investing billions in NYC its because the upside outweighs the costs including taxes. Miami can offer lower taxes but it still doesnt match NYC’s scale, talent pool and deal flow.

Ken Griffin employs thousands of people in NYC and is planning to build the tallest office tower on Park Ave., investing billions more and creating thousands more jobs. (For that reason, he’s also here in NYC a lot, @NYCMayor) Meantime Miami is welcoming him and his firm, with the massive jobs, investment and tax revenue he’s bringing. Making him feel unwelcome and demonizing him seems risky. Ken left Chicago and moved Citadel hq to Miami a few years ago because of bad policy. (He also sold his penthouse there)
