Imagine a terrified 3-year-old ripped from his father’s arms and a scared 16-year-old torn away from his dad - loaded into unmarked vans by the same private company now hired by ICE for “wellness checks” on undocumented kids.
These children weren’t lost. Their families knew exactly where they were. But according to a new ICE contract, MVM Inc. - accused in federal court of torture, enforced disappearances, and cruel treatment during the 2017 family separations - is back on the job.
Advocates call it “deplorable.” Families say their kids are already traumatized and now live in fear of another knock at the door.
These are children. Not political pawns.
What happens when the people accused of harming them are sent to “check on their safety” - and we call it protection?
