Vivek needs to realize that a large amount of the hate isn't just because he's Indian but rather that he's unlikable. He comes off to many as nerd-coded, elitist, and as a hall monitor, which leads people to double down on the Indian angle. He also postures in a way that seems like he understands America more than or is more American than traditionally white Americans which pisses everyone off, which causes them to double down even further on his Indian-ness. Vivek then feels he needs to also double down on his rhetoric to defend himself, which makes him even *more* unlikable, and a negative feedback loop is created.
