@beth_lingual Thank you I will have a look! We don't do Conti properly as our scheme of work is really tight so we never actually spend the appropriate amount of time of SBs. I'm losing my groove with lesson planning so trying really hard to think of skills to get me back on track!

@madamelanguages Great, hope you find it interesting! Conti also has some diagrams on his blog/social media about the sub-skills needed for each skill which are quite helpful - as long as you are giving time to practice each stage and not skipping them, I think you have some flexibility

Taking a really big interest in T and L recently, focused on 4 skills. When I was training I was taught this order: listening/speaking/reading/writing. Thoughts on this? We loosely do EPI at my school so interested in how this fits in?

As part of our work on holidays, S4 🇪🇸 had a go at deciphering language in pictures from my trip to Costa Rica a couple of years ago. They were working so quietly that a colleague thought they were doing an assessment! Thank you @OllieMFL and @MrFrancisMFL for the inspiration.

Any tips for checking kids are actually self assessing their work in the school’s coloured pen of choice and consequence if they don’t? For some classes I can’t walk around or it’s be chaos, but a look at their books tell me they never correct their work!

Genuinely losing my love of teaching every day that goes by. Behaviour is out of control and my school is so old fashioned with learning objectives and so on. So sad this is happening to me 😭

@LucieEmmett 3 days left to relax and prep for the next half term just isn’t enough time, I would feel I need a week just to rest from the trip! Thank you for your thoughts

#mfltwitterati in need of advice please! My headteacher hates for trips to be taken during term time, so if we ran a trip it would be on a Saturday, Sunday and 2-3 days into a one week half term. Would you do it? I need the half term to decompress,would feel guilty if I said no.

@langsteach My thoughts exactly. I also plan things during the half term as it is my own time, and I’m not willing to cancel plans. Thank you for giving your opinion!

@thefish64 He does, all of the above! The art department are running a trip abroad as well but in term time, which does seem unfair to us

@madamelanguages I have done this before, but it was just a one off trip. I wonder how consistent your head is on this. Do they allow day trips in school time? Geog field trips? Theatre visits? Sports fixtures? I always used the argument that other depts did day trips in school time.
