@MFLMusings Yes of course. It’s in my Google drive pinned to my profile. It’s a ppt file so download and edit.

@norchcity One issue is that if someone else accesses your register afterwards and doesn’t hit ‘complete’ when they leave it, it looks as though you didn’t do it in the first place! (2/2)
English

@norchcity We get an email at the end of the day listing everyone who hasn’t completed their register(s) that day. If your name appears four times in a half term, there is a meeting to discuss that. Not sure what format it takes as I’ve not been on the receiving end. (1/2)

@ArmstrongMFL Many of mine tell me ‘I’m busy’. Newsflash: so am I 😂 I have found that weekly vocabulary tests tend to work well - there will always be some that don’t put the effort in outside of class, but, for those that do, it helps with forming good habits.

@PL_9009766 We finish at lunchtime on a Friday (7 x 50 minute lessons Mon-Thurs, 4 x 50 minute lessons on Fri) and have six non-contact periods in that time. Personally, it would feel too intense if we compressed that any further in order to achieve a full day blocked out for PPA.

Setting aside my role as a teacher, I have to ask: how are parents—especially those with infants or children in primary school—expected to manage this? It’s a non starter.

@ArmstrongMFL It’s one of those situations where everyone loses out, simply because most schools can’t afford to run separate N4 and N5 classes when class sizes are small.
English

@MFLMusings Every year of teaching N5 classes (this is my 10th year) the classes have been at least bi-course. The ones who are truly N4 don't get taught to their level as you have to prioritise the N5.

@RobbieFarr2 To those I would add: it’s and its. I don’t really recall there being much of this sort of literacy teaching when I was at secondary school (I’m 31) and often think that I learnt more about English grammar through studying French, particularly at A Level.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas @LibertonHS and today’s staff baking session brightened up my day. Thank you to Home Ec colleagues for organising 🎄

English

@PL_9009766 I can’t say I’ve ever expected it to still exist by the time I reach retirement (and that’s still a long way off, as I’m only 31). Even if it did, I suspect the age at which you could claim it would be far beyond the age at which you would have the energy required to teach!
English

The cruel irony for many young people of today is that there is no way they will be receiving state pension.
The entire system will have collapsed (I reckon as an IMF bailout condition) by the time they retire. More will be taken from them to facilitate this collapse. 👇

@Shabnamagram I use my local library for some books, but if folding pages is a barrier to that - check out your local charity shops. Most of the time, it’s about £3/book 😊 The church where I run Brownies also has a book sale (donation-based) - not sure if that sort of thing is widespread.
English

@ArmstrongMFL What a brilliant example! I ran a study skills session for parents last month and talked them through the technique, but I like the idea of getting pupils to follow it up by making one of their own 😊
English

@MFLMusings So I was teaching them how to use the Leitner system for flashcards and they were to show me a photo (four piles/envelopes/poly pockets/tubs) but this one blue me away!
English

@norchcity I’m sure many do, even if they don’t say it. I had some brilliant teachers, and if it weren’t for the confidence my A Level French teacher had in me, I doubt I would have continued with French at university. I think many underestimate how much time goes into doing this job well!
English

@Ms_BhandariML @OllieMFL Thank you! I will send it your way when I get a moment (probably not til this evening!) 😊
English

@MFLMusings @OllieMFL Love this Rosie! It looks brilliant as always. Would you be willing to share? ☺️

This week, N5 🇪🇸 pupils received their 'Quizlet Calendar'. I'm hoping it will help them (a) see that little bursts of revision done often = lots of revision over a period of time, and (b) get into good study habits sooner rather than later. Gracias @OllieMFL for the idea!

English

@MissNaules Thanks ☺️ No problem. If you can send me your email address via DM, I’ll send the editable version your way!
English

@MFLMusings I love this and I think my nationals especially could benefit from it. Any chance you could send an editable version of it to me too?
English

@Esther41780108 @OllieMFL Thank you ☺️ Happy to share. DM me your email address and I’ll send it your way.
English

@MFLMusings @OllieMFL It is fantastic thank you I would like to use with my students if you don’t mind to share it please thanks 🙌🏻👏🏻
