@capncleaver Dude, I loved puzzle pirates so much in high school. I still think about it often and how fun and truly unique it was. Thank you!

@Jonathan_Blow @auderdy Fair enough, though I hope you stay in one of the neighborhoods when you visit :) NOPA / Divisadero for example is much 'nicer' (certainly fancier, ymmv) than it was in late 90s / 2000s. Even St Pete's has some less salubrious areas, no?

Today I was in an SF cafe with polished concrete floors feeling sad about leaving plush Vienna where I spent the past 6.5 weeks surrounded by beautiful historical architecture and eating complex cakes…but then in this cafe I met a dude building a hotel on the moon (right after I’d gotten a tour of my friend’s nearby office where his team just built a fully autonomous, electric truck). The majority of people in Vienna have never ridden and don’t believe self driving cars are real — since I’ve been back stateside I’ve basically only not driven in Teslas and Waymos Going from Vienna to SF feels less like taking a flight — it’s more like a Time Machine

Had a chat with @marcoshealey about his games, ragdoll kung fu, dungeon keeper, little big planet 1&2, Dreams and more! Will be out in couple of weeks, but in the meantime, enjoy this Purple Pants Dreams demo Mark made back in the day youtube.com/watch?v=xF2UY8…

Around 2019, I was working on a snake clone and I had thoughts about what a sokoban game would be like if the player controlled a snake. I had not thought of a way to make it interesting beyond being blocked by the body. I find this interesting so I'll link games attempting this:

@jackcrawford__ From the discord: > To be clear, that voiceover was just for the trailer. We expect the final VO to be much higher quality

A project shipped this week that I played a small but important role in. Very proud.

Shortcircuit the variable into an output either visually or into another buffer that’s then inspected. Both can have their exact memory contents read from within Nsight Graphics. It’s unfortunately a lot of commenting and temporary modifications to the shader. The experience could definitely be improved greatly.

@AgileJebrim How do you step through your shaders? Does Nsight have breakpoints, view variables, etc?

@AgileJebrim Sweet! what do you do now for debugging? I'm curious about writing my programs as compute shaders, but I wondered what debugging looked like. Just look at the inputs and outputs?

cringe in hindsight how i spent so much effort on like Fantano-style reviews in 2020ish. straight up dead format in the age of social media. you can fit your opinion in a tweet bro. you don't need 10 minutes of generic adjectives. in my defense i wasn't on social media back then

@markdotdev I chose zig for this because it caches the compilation result automatically.

How to use zig to make any C file run like a shell script: 1. put `//usr/bin/env zig run $0 -- $@; exit` as the first line in the c file 2. make it executable: chmod +x file.c 3. run it: ./file.c
