Update: I had to call @NWPolice again this evening after receiving no statement from the officer I spoke to this morning. He had assured me he would send it through today. The officer asked me initially what I wanted them to do. I replied, “without sounding like a complete bitch, I want you to do your job.” He then asked if I just wanted it logged or to make a formal statement. I insisted on making a statement. The officer showed zero empathy and appeared irritated that he had to deal with it. He repeatedly brought up my previous post with #FuckIslam. I told him that when someone threatens to slit a baby’s throat, piss on its grave, and invokes Allah, then “fuck Islam” is actually very mild compared to what I wanted to say. He asked me to remove it more than once. I refused, reminding him it is my legal right to free speech. He then reminded me that North Wales Police are monitoring my social media pages and the @WrexhamUnite social media pages. So North Wales Police, as you like to keep reminding me that you’re watching all of my social media; do you want to do something about this post and actually do your job? I told him I was already aware of the monitoring, as Chief Inspector Caroline Mullen-Hurst had told me herself during a previous meeting. I reminded him that it is not illegal to say “fuck Islam”. He confirmed that the perpetrator does actually live in Bradford. He said he would take the statement, get me to sign it, and then just pass it over to @WestYorksPolice to deal with. It seemed like he couldn’t wait to get rid of it. In my call this evening, I requested a different officer going forward, preferably a female officer, as I felt the one I spoke to this morning lacked basic empathy and was a complete dick given the circumstances. Thankfully, the lady I spoke to tonight was lovely. She was very helpful and gave me the crime reference numbers for both yesterday’s and today’s calls (the previous officer hadn’t provided one). It seems that being threatened by a man verified as connected to the Pakistani Muslim grooming gang network is not a high priority for some in North Wales Police, or they simply can’t be arsed. I’ll let you make up your own minds on that one.
