@RFenell Basically the same way we know alcohol is dangerous in pregnancy without giving pregnant people a bunch of booze and seeing what happens.
gov.uk/government/pub…
@RFenell They did on-going population studies since it's obviously unethical to inject pregnant people with random medication to figure out if it's okay. Effectively, people who didn't know they were pregnant were given the vaccine and results were drawn from that. 1/2
@RFenell There was no scientific studies done on thalidomide in pregnancy, it was already approved for other uses and the laws at the time meant it could be marketed to anyone. That's why the laws changed after the thalidomide epidemic and drugs had to be proven safe in pregnancy.
@FlowStateXR@AlexBarnicoat_ Science does not lie. But unhappily, scientists do, especially if their jobs depend on it. Eg Covid vaccines prevent transmission of Covid? Lock down? Thalidomide was safe?
@DerekMcLellan2 senior reference point is so funny, hun they haven’t written about everything they just take the most common conditions and condense scientific studies them into a website for the average person to understand.
longdom.org/open-access/a-…
@maxJ133 This is from the NHS here in the UK. The senior reference point for all medical issues over here. End of.
It states it Only affects Males.
Hope this helps.
@DerekMcLellan2 and if you read on a little further you would see that some people born with XXY have a Y chromosome lacking the SRY gene, meaning they are genetically female.
@meishato Incorrect. Possessing XXY Chromosomes is called Klinefelter Syndrome and only Males can get it.
Now shut the fuck up and stop using people's medical conditions in your shite arguments.
