No Kings is planning 3000-events on 3/28 and its 1700-word press release makes zero mention of Iran, only opaque mentions of “illegal wars” (which ones?) I like many of the orgs involved but what’s the utility of these generic “anti-authoritarian” word salads at this moment

When we had our first I was like omg this is so hard, how has anyone ever done anything ever when they were watching their baby. And then the second one was easy until she started crawling, so having 2 feels easier in some ways. But when I’m the only adult with both I’m like wow

To be clear I think parenting is hard and no one is less of a parent for having one kid! I just mean the way your life gets structured

there’s this fake divide between child free people and parents but having one child is probably less different from being child free than having 3+ kids is from having 1…does this make sense? Now that I have 2 kids, one is like none. If I had 3 I’d feel this way about having 2

We live in gentilly, by city park, and I can easily take my children to mid city on foot. Less than 2 miles from pandora for snowballs. ppl will still refer to where we live as the suburbs bc their concept of New Orleans is the fun parts

City People who live in the City are happy. Suburb People who live in the Suburbs are happy. City People who live in the Suburbs are miserable. Suburb People who live in the City are angry delusional narcissists who are ruining everything for everybody.

I would NEVER call a woman bitter for something she said about me, even if it seemed like she was (which it wasn’t, in the case of Scaachi). If someone says something about you that you don’t like and you feel the need to respond, you ruin it if you veer into attacking them! 101

My husband saw a dressed up woman with really high heels and he said “she must be with a guy that’s a lot taller than she is” bc he thinks women also care about being taller than their dates

@wirmgurl I felt this way with my first baby. Not talking down to you just saying it got easier bc there are infinite choices to make and it’s inevitable that you have friends who are sahms, friends who aren’t, etc. and the infinite choices ppl make start to make sense as kids get older

Unfortunately, someone making a different choice from you is somewhat criticism of your choice. That's why all this mummy war stuff is so intractable; if I breastfeed and you don't then on some level I clearly think you are making the wrong choice.

I wish Raytheon or whatever evil entity makes all the baby formula could spend less time lobbying to block paid maternity leave and devote just a few hours to making the hypoallergenic formula smell less like rotten vegetable sludge so that my daughter will take a bottle

The war on Iran is a school shooting raised to the level of official US foreign policy. No pretense of a rational goal. Just murdering children for lulz and then committing suicide in hopes of going to Hell. Pete Hegseth is the same person as Dylan Klebold, just on a bigger stage

I think there’s a lot of truth to generational stuff because people are affected by their circumstances and that’s obvious. Boomers have eating disorders, Gen Z receptionists are kind of cold. Who fucking cares. Truly who the fuck cares.
