Everything about official bilingualism in Canada is built on myth. People can’t “just learn” a language they don’t need. Canada isn’t “built on” two equally-sized language groups. Bilingualism isn’t “necessary” to function at an elite level. It’s all just Laurentian folklore.

Unpopular take I know but I do struggle to understand why extremly priveleged politicians/CEO's can't use their time and resources to learn to speak French. I've seen military personel become fluent in 18 months for promotions. Not doing so looks a bit lazy and I would want to show everyone that I'm capable of conversing w/o a translator just to show off tbh. That said its an odd time to be debating it 😬but here we are

L’indignation rituelle du Québec devant le non-usage du français par les acteurs officiels du Canada ressemble de plus en plus à la vertu ostentatoire complètement vide du wokisme. PM Mark Carney says he is "very disappointed" in Air Canada CEO's English-only message of condolence: "It doesn't matter the circumstances, but particularly in these circumstances, lack of judgment and lack of compassion."

Canada is in an uproar because Air Canada's CEO didn't have a condolences message in French for the 2 pilots killed in that accident.
He is being summoned to testify 🤦🏼
Is it really that big of a deal?
We have tens of thousands of Canadians who die waiting for healthcare, hundreds of thousands who can't find a job and record poverty and yet not nearly as much outrage.

🚨 #BREAKING: The Supreme Court just ruled UNANIMOUSLY that “reverse discrimination” IS discrimination
In other words, discriminating against someone because they’re white and heterosexual IS illegal under the Civil Rights Act
I can’t believe this had to be litigated at the Supreme Court, but this is a BIG win regardless.
