Trump: 'It's not just NATO. You know who else didn't help us? South Korea didn't help us. You know who else didn't help us? Australia didn't help us. You know who else didn't help us? Japan.'
If Trump wanted NATO to go to war with him in Iran, maybe he shouldn't have threatened to invade and annex one ally, joked about making another 51st state, or irrationally slapped tariffs on them. He also should have asked for NATO's support before launching his war, not after.
🇫🇷 France has removed the last of its gold reserves from the United States and now keeps all of it in Paris.
This comes after the sale of 129 tonnes — around 5% of its reserves — generating about €13 billion in profits.

@washingtonpost China is in the beginning of a complete collapse and meltdown. Their unemployment is in the 30%. Their manufacturing is collapsing. China automakers are crashing and filing bankruptcy. Quit lying to Americans.
China is seizing opportunities in renewable energy as the Trump administration pulls the U.S. back from the emerging sector in favor of fossil fuels.

@profstonge Make no mistake: We spend $300 billion a year controlling Europe and countering Russia's influence. So remember what I said: there is a much better chance of Trump getting another term as president than there is of the U.S. actually walking away from NATO.
Trump threatens to quit NATO.
We spend $300 billion a year defending Europe — including their war in Ukraine. But when we need them they don’t lift a finger.
What it would take to leave.
@Zimmlaw175 Make no mistake: it is the U.S. fighting this war for Israel, not the other way around. Otherwise, if the U.S. were to just stand by, could Israel really take on Iran on its own?
Unlike our so-called allies in Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, Israel is a steadfast, determined and firm ally that fights shoulder-to-shoulder alongside the United States. Only people who in their hearts hate the United States, hate Israel.
It is precisely China’s lack of military presence in the greater Middle East that has lured the United States into war, writes Jo Inge Bekkevold. foreignpolicy.com/2026/04/06/ira…

@intelFromBrian It shows that Americans realize the current Trump administration is an autocratic regime, and that protesting will only bring ruthless crackdowns upon themselves. When people are in despair, they lose the will to do anything at all.
“I have spent the past five years telling people not to worry about [Donald] Trump and NATO,” says one European diplomat in Washington, DC.
“Now I am genuinely quite worried about Trump and NATO” economist.com/europe/2026/04…
