Mario Mata Cruz and his brother Marvin spoke to NY1 about their experience being pulled over by immigration authorities while driving to work on Long Island last year — which led to Mario’s arrest and “illegal” deportation to El Salvador, according to his lawyer. Lawyers told @EricSFeldman that Marvin’s story is not an anomaly and that noncitizens around the country are being illegally deported without final removal orders. The Department of Justice has not responded to NY1’s request for comment about Mario’s arrest and deportation, or the practice around the country in general.
