@Billy_Ocean_ The sim definitely isn't realtime but if your settings are low enough for look dev, it's pretty quick. This is the stock Pyro Solver but Axiom is supposedly faster, which is a crazy considering how fast this already is.

Object Matte in After Effects is the real deal.
Used the beta in a 9K production and it was flawless and fast.

Back to better stuff. I figured out how to render the explosion lighting in Houdini without rendering the actual explosion itself.
Use a Geometry light, select the Explosion as the Geometry, disable Explosion but keep GeoLight active.
