But the UK is objectively a weak "ally." Not only is its military one of (if not the) weakest in the Western world, but it also does not help defend against common threats. Iran has missiles that can hit London—and enough U-235 for 11 fission bombs—but the UK won't even send the few ships it has operational to go and help secure the Strait. The obligations only go one way. We're supposed to help defend against Russia, but what do we get from NATO? Seemingly, not much.
