The real trick in the question is in believing that your belief that others will vote blue is a majority view.
My friend, the entire western hemisphere is ~a billion people... there are 7 billion people on this planet. Red is not just the most logical choice in terms of 'which will not kill me', red is the premiere choice if you understand that THE WORLD is bigger than YOUR CIVILIZATION.
Your 'universal humanist mindset' is not a majority view. There are more people in the bottom 25% of the IQ bracket, well below 70 IQ, than there are total people in the entire western hemisphere.
You've been indoctrinated on Pepsi commercial propaganda. You're the lone western female who goes hitch-hiking alone in Algeria to "find yourself" because of this magical belief.
Hence why it is a suicidal empathy trap, because you are handing your life over to the lowest common denominators.
