🇪🇸 Spain is preparing to evacuate its troops deployed in Iraq.
The Spanish government has already begun the “temporary relocation” of the Special Operations Group (SOTG) stationed in Iraq due to the “deteriorating security situation” caused by the war in Iran and the “impossibility of continuing assigned missions.”
Spain currently has 300 military personnel in Iraq across two operations:
- Operation Inherent Resolve – the international coalition against ISIS, in which the relocated Special Operations Group participates.
- NATO Mission in Iraq (NMI) – where a Spanish general is scheduled to assume command in June.

Why This Feels Like a War Crime? In any other era, if you were out of ammo or cornered, there was a slim chance of surrender or a "fair" end. But you can't surrender to a kamikaze drone. It doesn't have a heart, it doesn't take prisoners, and it doesn't understand mercy.
