This is one of the most intellectually dishonest abuses of Scripture I have seen in a while. Those verses were written about systemic oppression, corrupt judges, legal injustice, and powerful people exploiting vulnerable widows who had no voice, no protection, and no means to defend themselves. They were not written to shield a wealthy, influential public figure from criticism, scrutiny, investigative questions, or public accountability. What is happening here is not biblical interpretation. It is biblical weaponization. People are ripping verses out of their historical and theological context, then swinging them around like a political baseball bat because they think quoting Scripture automatically wins an argument. It doesn’t. Erika Kirk is not a powerless widow in ancient Israel begging corrupt officials for justice. She is a public figure, fundraiser, media personality, and leader of a major national organization operating in the public square. Public figures receive public scrutiny. That is how accountability works. The Bible absolutely commands believers to care for widows, defend the vulnerable, and oppose exploitation. But using those verses as a shield against legitimate questions or as a cudgel to attack critics is bad theology, bad hermeneutics, and frankly a disgraceful misuse of God’s Word. Some of y’all treat Scripture like a weapon of convenience. You ignore the context, ignore the audience, ignore the purpose of the text, and then wonder why people accuse you of manipulating the Bible for political ends. This is why. God’s Word deserves better than that.

What I find fascinating is the insistence that we’re irrational for wanting to see a video that THEY themselves elevated to near-mythical status. We’re told Erika was moved to tears by it. We’re told Charlie wanted it. We’re told it proves Charlie’s dying wish was for Erika to take over—despite that narrative contradicting countless things he said publicly over the years. And yet, none of us were even arguing about Erika becoming CEO. Then Erika literally walks out to an audio recording of Charlie saying it. Naturally, people ask a simple question: if there’s audio, was it extracted from a video? We ask to see the full video for months. For months. And somehow we’re the crazy ones for wanting to see the source material of a claim everyone keeps citing as evidence. Then, after all that, we’re given a handful of carefully selected clips totaling what feels like 18 words—the very footage we were repeatedly told we didn’t need to see. And finally, we’re informed that we should actually be angry at Candace because she had the video the whole time. Well… yes. Of course she had the video. Why do you think we kept asking for it? The funniest part of this entire saga is that they seem genuinely shocked that people wanted to verify a claim before accepting it as gospel. But sure. We’re the irrational ones.

That woman is exhibiting cringey performative behavior and is manipulating the Word of God. Just because you quote scripture doesn’t mean you are applying it correctly or that you are righteous. The question: Can you please provide the video that Erika referred to when she claimed that Charlie appointed her as CEO? The answer: Charlie said "keep asking questions", WE say "to hell with your questions, we will present a fake video and use his voice to lie about his succession plans". Our prayer: Dear Lord have mercy on everyone in this organisation who is calling this evil, 'good'.

For the last two days, I’ve said TPUSA is doing one of two things: (1) Panicking because the context of the video doesn’t support what their claim, or (2) Using Charlie’s corpse as a joke to “own” Candace. They gleefully claim the second disgusting option. Since everything they say is a lie, I don’t believe them. But either option is disgusting.
