I am excited to share this Fall I’ll be joining @he_oej as an Associate Professor of Higher Education Opportunity, Equity and Social Justice. Returning closer to home and joining a program my brother @donte__mcguire graduated from feels better than good.
NC State HE-OEJ@he_oej

Awe! My niece, (who was at my doctoral defense years ago), successfully defended her dissertation. Wish I was home to celebrate her. So happy for her and the family!

We need to reimagine what it means to advocate in special education. Too often it is constructed through a gaze that ignores the impact and lived experience of racism, intersectionality, deeply-rooted ableist and classist ideologies. We need truth-tellers and justice-seekers.

Dr. Zah was indeed a great leader and educator. Most of all, he was a great relative to all. He represented our small community of Low Mountain very well. news.asu.edu/20230425-arizo…

I rarely travel for conferences or talks bc as a single mom, I gotta take my 6 yo or find childcare & it’s rarely worth it. But THIS is so worth it. I’m honored to be in relation w Indigenous women doctoral scholars today. There will be cussing, loud laughter, & tears.
