To state what's obvious - Claynosaurz is not moving to ETH. That ship sailed a long time ago. It doesn't make sense from a technical perspective or advance the company's long-term vision. Claynosaurz is a collector-focused project - built for collectors, not flippers or high volume. Those simply aren't the right metrics for Claynosaurz.
I also think Claynosaurz will create its own marketplace at some point -- and maybe soon with the decline of Tensor and Magic Eden. It just makes too much sense, given the long-term vision with the achievement system, merchandise, etc. It would be chain-agnostic (with those mechanics running in the background) and would probably feature the three main collections: OGs, Sagas, and Popkins.
As for the other collections - clay, claymakers, etc. - the team has hinted at a future burn for XP, which, at some point, will become the basis for allocating the equity token. That would further consolidate the collections and put the focus squarely on the characters - the characters you'll soon be playing/watching in the upcoming game and TV series.
Anyway, some random thoughts, given the state of the timeline. Claynosaurz is built different and not really sure there are many, if any, useful comps, at least in Web 3.
Dream big.

guy who extracted $1B from the trenches and faked an airdrop a year ago wants you to tell you to run it back

@Pumpfun let’s run it the fuck back.

Extraction loop has come to an end, everyone is poor including the remaining founders themselves.

Airdrops in 2024: - “You visited our site and clicked a few buttons years ago - here’s $5,000” Airdrops now: - “Pay $50,000 in fees, connect three wallets, pass KYC, claim a badge, mint NFTs in the correct order - enjoy your $4.69”

BAYC went from over $400K to $10K That says everything about the current state of NFTs And most of them have already played their most valuable card: A token

Now that the full tokenomics are out and TGE wrapped yesterday, I've been trying to organize my thoughts.
On price first. For people who actively farmed points as an investment (which I believe is most users) it's hard to argue this wasn't a disappointing outcome regardless of where the price goes from here. You spent the past year using the product almost every day, dealing with stress and opportunity cost, only to find out someone who did nothing and just bought yesterday could have ended up with more tokens with zero effort.
That said, while it's easy to feel frustrated and want to find someone to blame, no one forced anyone to do this. It was our own decision and that's just the reality of investing. Rather than pointing fingers, it's probably healthier to accept it, move on, and focus on what comes next.
On the equity conversion utility. I do think it's genuinely innovative and nothing like this has ever been offered by an exchange token before. But in practice, most people care far more about token performance than equity because only 20% of the company is allocated to the pool, there's dilution risk going forward, and at the same valuation, exiting via the token is simply way more profitable than converting into equity. It's better understood as an insurance policy rather than a primary source of upside.
There's also a structural misalignment worth noting. The team has no direct token allocation and their only upside comes through company equity. That's very different from a project like Hyperliquid where team incentives are more directly tied to token performance. To be fair, token performance is directly tied to the growth of Backpack so the team does care about the token but the incentive structure is just fundamentally different.
The time horizons don't help either. The team can afford to wait years because their potential upside through an IPO is massive. Most token holders however are working with a capped 20% pool subject to ongoing dilution. If the team genuinely wants to deepen alignment with token holders going forward, mechanisms like token buybacks, fee sharing, or increasing the equity share (or at least redistributing forfeited equity to ongoing stakers) for token holders would go a long way.
Overall, while the TGE was disappointing, it doesn’t change my conviction in the team or the product and I am geuninely excited for what's coming. That said, this feels like a moment where the team needs to think more deeply about how to better align with token holders going forward. Without stronger alignment with token holders, this whole token to equity model could end up being all flash and no substance.

Introducing the latest member to join The Smug Bastards: Creeper he’s a Smug Aqua Apres Raptor. This Clayno features a color skin combo that I been wanting since the mint, I had to add this to my collection once I saw it listed. I saved for months and it’s the most I ever spent on any type of Collectable, shit it’s the most I spent on any single item aside from buying a car. With grails being bought left and right I was watching this since it was listed hoping no one bought it, days and days went by, the anxiety was high and then I had enough. I’m so happy to have this one, when I showed my boy he lit up asking can you buy that one, and I was lucky to say yes this is ours! His reply was why he Creeping around 😂 I said he’s looking for food and now ya know where the name comes from.
Shoutout @Degen_Bald_Boy for helping me introduce my newest Clayno in an Epic way 🤝
