This is false. The transatlantic slave trade was more massive in scale and scope than the Barbary slave trade. Over 12 million Africans were enslaved and shipped out against about 1.3 million Europeans enslaved in North Africa. The former was an organized and deliberate industrial complex while the later was organized crime by pirates 🏴‍☠️.
