I can almost guarantee you that the neo with 8gb ram will run better than that windows laptop with 16GB ram, purely because of OS and optimization. A bunch of different computer manufacturers with different drivers, CPU, & GPU use windows while, apple hardware only runs on MacOS, with consistent hardware, and optimization. With that said you will also get accurate battery life with Mac vs windows, the manufacturer for a windows laptop could say x amount of battery hours, but in reality it really differs when you’re doing actual work, gaming, or intensive rendering.

OS is 100% subjective. I tried the MacOS and hated it. It lacks basic functionality that Windows has in several areas and I couldn't get past that
Yes to better build quality than windows laptops of the same price point, and absolutely yes to track pad and keyboard, but those are secondary to performance.

Anthropic is a private company. They set the parameters for their own technology. You, the government, chose to award a contract knowing exactly what those parameters were.
If those red lines — like not using their technology to spy on Americans or build fully autonomous weapons — are now apparently a problem for you, the solution is to terminate the contract. You don't own them.

It’s extremely good that Anthropic has not backed down, and it’s siginficant that OpenAI has taken a similar stance. In the future, there will be much more challenging situations of this nature, and it will be critical for the relevant leaders to rise up to the occasion, for fierce competitors to put their differences aside. Good to see that happen today.
