@spicymeateater @clhubes Same for me (I’m from Portugal). My parents would tell you that I was a picky kid but also octopus rice was a common meal I had in kindergarten (that was one of my favorites). “Kids food” was not really thing. If I didn’t like something I would just eat less of it.

@deborah_witalis @andreagrimes Food is bland in Portugal? Now I’ve heard it all. If they said too much is fried or too much olive oil, I’d understand, but bland? Not on your life. And Europe includes Greece, Italy, France, Spain, Romania, Hungary - you have no idea what you’re saying. Seriously.

@erniebufflo @andreagrimes My mom used salt but not a lot. I used to have low blood pressure and even passed out a couple of times. Since moving out and making my own food I’ve never had issues again. Now my blood pressure tends to be on the low side of normal.
