The "yes" vote has won Va's redistricting referendum — but the legal fight is just beginning. Four Va Constitutional challenges are now teed up: THREE challenges to the amendment process itself: 1️⃣ First passage was invalid. The amendment was taken up during a special session convened in 2024 for budget purposes. The General Assembly's own call to the Governor (under Art. IV, §6 and Art. V, §5) and its governing resolution (HJR 6001) limited the session's scope. Expanding it to include a constitutional amendment on redistricting required a two-thirds vote that never occurred. A Tazewell County judge found this action "void, ab initio." 2️⃣ Art. XII, §1 requires that after first passage, a proposed amendment be "referred to the General Assembly at its first regular session held after the next general election of members of the House of Delegates." An election must intervene between first and second passage. Here, first passage occurred during an election cycle — not before an intervening one. 3️⃣ Art. XII, §1 requires the amendment be submitted to voters "not sooner than ninety days after final passage by the General Assembly." The timeline from second passage to the April 21 vote did not satisfy this requirement. Plus ONE challenge to the proposed maps: 4️⃣ Art. II, §6 requires that "every electoral district shall be composed of contiguous and compact territory." The proposed congressional maps violate this contiguity requirement (rather badly). Next stop, court. Stay tuned.

He was told no: no one else had died. Thanks to what he and his friends had accomplished in those 90 seconds, 554 people were able to return home to their families that night. French President François Hollande awarded Stone, Skarlatos, and Sadler the Legion of Honor—France's highest distinction. President Obama received them at the Pentagon. The world applauded their actions. Stone consistently declined all honors. “I only did what anyone would have done,” he kept repeating. But that’s precisely the difference: most people wouldn’t have. When danger strikes, all your instincts tell you to flee in the opposite direction. The rarest thing in the world is to see someone run toward that danger—unarmed—for the safety of strangers they’ve never met. Three friends from Sacramento and a British stranger they’d never spoken to decided—in a spontaneous and unforeseen moment—that the lives of others mattered more than their own safety. That decision saved the lives of everyone on board that train. 554 people were able to get home. Because four ordinary people had chosen, without the slightest hesitation, to do something extraordinary.

This is what I love to see! This routine traffic stop turns into a moment of pure humanity. Gotta love cops like this. Instead of a ticket, she got patience, understanding, and the hug she desperately needed. In a world full of negativity, these moments remind us that kindness still wins. In a 2025 discussion, @SenWarren bragged to me about being the leading force behind the months-long delay of Fed Chair Jay Powell’s renomination. I told her that her political grandstanding helped pave the way for the Biden-era inflation crisis, the worst America has suffered since the 1970s. It is disappointing to see that the Harvard Square inflationista has learned little from that fiasco. Now, she is trying to delay Kevin Warsh’s confirmation as Fed Chair, once again putting politics ahead of the well-being of the American people. To paraphrase an old saying, “she has learned nothing and forgotten nothing.”

He declared it's time to change the Senate rules because Republicans used reconciliation for appropriations after Democrats refused to agree, particularly on protecting agencies like DHS now carrying out mass deportations. Murphy's warning is blunt: Once the lid is off, Democrats will never negotiate again. They will ram their entire agenda through reconciliation with zero Republican votes. What he calls a "hard to get agreement" is Democrats' refusal to fund the government unless they can keep importing and shielding their future voter base. Their months-long lies on DHS have been exposed. Republicans cannot afford to play defense any longer. The 60-vote threshold is dying. It is time to NUKE THE FILIBUSTER while you still hold the majority. Deliver tangible victories now that motivate voters to show up in massive numbers for the midterms. Fail to act decisively and Democrats will return to turn the Senate into a pure majority-rule weapon against everything you stand for. The clock is ticking.
