And the more they cynically stoke this fire, the more outrage they can provoke and the more lucrative this garbage will be, which means there’s an incentive to deliberately produce things that even worse and more offensive and then repeat the strategy. Any genuinely progressive instinct is long forgotten, obviously. This has been going on for years and it’s what’s left of mainstream popular culture in the West.
