The biggest career hack is being easy to find when opportunities are looking for you.

One of the most frustrating moments as a Nigerian developer is following a tutorial, getting to the payment section, and realizing it uses Stripe. Then you discover Stripe doesn’t support your country. 😭 If you’re building in Africa, start with Paystack or Flutterwave. Build with tools designed for your market.

One thing I noticed: The people making the most money in tech are often not the best engineers. They’re usually the best at distribution.

There was this time I was building a product and I needed a good graphics designer for some promotional materials, then I tried to contact one guy who has been disturbing me for a while that he is into graphics and all and from what I have seen this guy is good. I called this guy up to 10 times at different intervals on Whatsapp and throughout he was offline, I called him on normal Phone call, he didn't pick as well, Then he called me back in the night, but by that time I had found someone else and even made payment. The most painful part was that the guy I later gave was not even close to the one I was calling in terms of what he delivered, but the guy is very very accessible, just one phone call, the guy don pick am. I then asked the guy I was calling after we met physically later on why he didn't pick up and he said that he didn't have data and his phone was on DND, na from there I know say the guy never serious with en life.
