A new, surprising direction in cryptography and encryption. A system built on “high-school”-level fractions, specifically partial fraction decomposition (well, not everything here is high-school level). Algebraically, it is easy to check if an identity can exist at all. Computationally, it is hard to forge combinations that would look correct after plugging in a secret value. eprint.iacr.org/2025/2081.pdf

In November 1998, CBS Sunday Morning aired an interview with 27-year-old Elon Musk. Correspondent Rita Braver spoke to him about Zip2, the startup he co-founded with his brother Kimbal in 1995. The company developed online city guides and digital maps to help newspapers publish business directories and local information on the internet.
Just a few months later, in February 1999, computer manufacturer Compaq bought Zip2 for $307 million in cash (plus stock options), one of the largest deals for an internet company at the time. Elon Musk received about $22 million from the sale.

We are on the cusp of a profound change in the field of mathematics. Vibe proving is here.
Aristotle from @HarmonicMath just proved Erdos Problem #124 in @leanprover, all by itself. This problem has been open for nearly 30 years since conjectured in the paper “Complete sequences of sets of integer powers” in the journal Acta Arithmetica.
Boris Alexeev ran this problem using a beta version of Aristotle, recently updated to have stronger reasoning ability and a natural language interface.
Mathematical superintelligence is getting closer by the minute, and I’m confident it will change and dramatically accelerate progress in mathematics and all dependent fields.
