This CIA document has nothing to do with debunking UFOs. It’s a 1954 propaganda memo about the Guatemala coup. “WSBURN” is the CIA code name for Guatemala. The line about flying saucers is just saying sensational stories could distract the media, the same way tabloids use crazy headlines. It’s not saying the CIA invented UFO sightings.

Declassified CIA document shows the agency had a strategy to put out fake UFO stories to distract the public. Think about that the next time you suddenly see a bunch of "UFO" or "alien" stories in the media.
