@biobthe1 Some minor visual differences only (more triangles, better fake reflections, bloom)

@mreliptik Endless possibilities are fine as long as gameplay is good enough. Also, adding handcrafted pieces here and there will help. Procedural generation is good at filling the bits between unless you are padding the game way too much.

MrEliptik - Lexispell demo out! ✨
What's your thoughts on procedural generation? When is it good and when is it boring?🤔 Endless possibilities doesn't sound exciting to me. I feel like I would prefer a well hand crafted world. I guess it can be a tool though?

@CezaryXR I thought about doing some impossible spaces + mixed reality but it would be either entering full vr and just coming out here and there or looking out the windows to see your room or would be just door frames that popup here and there while you walk in your room.

I am getting closer to finishing the first release of Endless Mode for Tea For God. But decided to get some tiny little side project when I saw the characters drawn by my kid #dog and #cat being #BFFs . A small coop puzzle platformer game. #cute #pixels #CRT #coop

@yewnyx @Jonathan_Blow I released a VR game in C++, made engine alone, released on multiple platforms (PC, Quest, Vive, there's working Pico build). And the game is actually roomscale game made to be played untethered (Tea For God) And I sort of still think that I might be unqualified a bit.

@Jonathan_Blow You're looking for a unicorn. This posting is doomed, because as bad as Unity C# VR is, everything else is substantially worse, especially Unreal. Together those are 99%+ of the hiring pool. (systems programmer who's shipped a VR game on Unity w/ C# & some C++)

@DanjelRicci AI could be still used by artists to make art for games much quicker. You could produce things separately that would require skill to put them together. An alternative that I am sure someone tried but haven't seen in person are illustrations for interactive fiction games.

As part of the endless mode, you have to leave everything you have after reaching base (lore: decontamination, actual reason: makes it easier to manage stuff). The device I added for "unloading" things not only takes your weapons but also your hand. #vr #coding #IndieGameDev

@RJdoesVR This feels like an illusion fooling our brains. Only this is done on purpose. Quite an amazing idea tbh.

@AlbertoCarlier @CezaryXR Bought a different face cover for it as it is easier to clean. And is a bit softer. Didn't play much on my own as it was almost last minute purchase before PGA.

@CezaryXR @void_room I bought it a couple of months ago just to test it in depth. I was disappointed with the glare, the face cover, which I found really uncomfortable and the lack of software and OS in general. Great hardware for PCVR. A far cry from Quest for standalone.

I just tried Pico 4 for the first time at PGA, @void_room's booth. I loved the increased FOV, how light the headset was (seriously, it was super comfortable), and, of course, the pancake lenses. I am gonna have a great comparison to the Quest 3 on October 11!

Meow. Had to turn of SSR as it was optimised for isometric view and hell gets lose when camera is almost horizontal. "Endless corridors" happen quite often :D

This is me: 3 hour long drive and I think that maybe I should try TPP for that cat prototype game as although the camera would be tricky, it would allow for more cat-style exploration/traversal. Isometric didn't really work with all the jumping :( readability
