Honestly really disappointed in the fact that barely any big names are defending Deme. I know the whole argument of "only angry incels still talk about it" but it feels like that mindset has just created an enviornment where in the anime community harassment gets literally no pushback at all It's feels the same as when people experience racist harassment and are just told to ignore it until it drives them crazy

This is exactly why people call it a cult. Deme gave a real, reflective apology. She owned up to the fact that bringing up that personal trauma was a low blow, admitted she doesn’t want to stoop to that level, and said she wants to be better and learn from her mistakes. That’s a mature apology. But Chibi and his cult are still out here acting like it’s not good enough because she didn’t grovel hard enough or completely erase that she thinks he’s a piece of shit. They’re twisting her words, calling it “iDubbbz level” and “sorry not sorry,” when the reality is they were never going to accept any apology that didn’t come with total submission. They don’t care about accountability or growth they care about winning and continuing to harass her. @darlingstrawbie I would like to point out, Deme, promptly after losing several thousand followers, Deme gained 15-20k in less than a few days. It is my stance someone (probably herself) started botting to try and save face. Like a "Look, my followers went UP, therefore I'm right" kinda thing.
