@TimothyDSnyder Looking forward to your follow-up take on the killing of Ashli Babbitt on Jan 6, 2021, Mr Snyder, sir!

Ashli Babbitt was unarmed when Lt. Byrd shot and killed her. He gave no verbal warning and was wearing plain clothes at the time. He was also surrounded by officers who didn’t so much as draw their gun let alone fire it. He should be in prison

@Deadnwhite @TimothyDSnyder She should have followed orders, right? The fact the the guys that pushed her through that window have been pardoned should tell you everything you need to know.
When did you stop believing your own eyes and ears?

@EvelynNiessner @TimothyDSnyder No one pushed her, so this doesn’t tell me anything, tbh. Just interested in @TimothyDSnyder’s take on the Babbitt incident since it’s a historically notable case with similarities to the Good one. As a historian, I’m intrigued to see the parallels he might draw.

@EvelynNiessner @TimothyDSnyder *”the parallels he might draw as a historian,” I should say. I’m not a professional historian! But Mr Snyder is, which is why I look forward to his discussing Babbitt and Good as historically comparable cases.
