@StephenPiment It may just be where I lived, but talks about aliens and UFOs were somewhat common in Brazil, specially among the poorest working class people. I heard them all the time from growing up all the way to working with patients at the hospital.
English

@StephenPiment Actually it’s because the United Federation of Planets all speak English.
English

@StephenPiment You’ve looked at limited data and come to a bad conclusion. ‘Garbage in, garbage out’. Look at wider data sets that cover the planet, not just US ones.
English

@StephenPiment Two theories:
1) The USA is the best country in the world
2) UFOs are only visible if you are on Adderall
English

@StephenPiment @deyjandiulfur Moon landings are an American phenomenon. Of course they visit us.

@StephenPiment No, they just call them by other names in other languages. There's plenty of UFO sightings across the world, believe me.
English

@StephenPiment Correction: Recording and reporting of UFO sightings are Anglo-American phenomenon.
English

@StephenPiment I suspect a decline in religion is a factor.
1. We ascribe weird sightings as UFOs vs. supernatural.
2. Humans like to believe in something greater than ourselves. Without strong religious faith, you'll be more apt to believe in UFOs (or Templar-esque conspiracies).
English

@StephenPiment *reporting UFO sightings such that they get into that database are an *English-speaking phenomenon
you're welcome for the correction
English

@StephenPiment I’m assuming data collection is very different across geographies
English

@StephenPiment The data is bias becuase the reproting and collection is central to nations that collect such information. You can't get reports that nobody can make.
English

@StephenPiment The data referenced by this infographic is uselessly bad.
English

@StephenPiment Of course. Aliens speak English. It’s simple, really
English

@StephenPiment Near 1:1 overlap with other media-catalyzed psychogenic contagions, I’d wager…
English

@StephenPiment No we just have the reporting systems. Travel anywhere in the world and they all have sightings, they just don’t bother reporting it to an official agency because it’s a known and accepted phenomenon. What this shows is Anglo Americans are the only ones skeptical of it.
English

@StephenPiment Maybe that’s because aliens are most fluent in English
English

@StephenPiment Reported* sightings. Who exactly are the ppl of the Amazon going to report to. But yes
English

@StephenPiment What a terribly ignorant and lazy tweet. You should be embarrassed.
Edinburgh, Scotland 🇬🇧 English

@StephenPiment Military test vehicles. There is no proof of aliens.
English

@StephenPiment I mean, they had Trump, of course, the Aliens are mostly going to hang out there, looking at what is about to happen next. 😂☠️
