🎬 Episode 4: The Site Dog
Every construction site has security.
Ours came with four legs. 🐕
Nobody knew where the dog came from.
Nobody knew who owned it.
Nobody had invited it.
Yet every morning by 7:30 am, it was already on site.
Before the labourers.
Before the mason.
Before the supplier.
Before some people that were actually receiving salary.
The dog took its job seriously.
Every morning it inspected the blocks.
Inspected the sand.
Inspected the wheelbarrows.
Then found a strategic position and sat down.
Watching everybody.
Judging everybody.
One Monday, something unusual happened.
The dog arrived.
The workers didn't.
🐕 arrived by 7:30.
Workers arrived by 9.
The dog was already waiting.
Looking disappointed.
Like a manager preparing termination letters.
One labourer entered and immediately started explaining traffic.
The dog yawned. 🥱
Honestly, even I wasn't convinced.
Then one day the dog didn't show up.
Panic.
Actual panic.
People started asking questions.
🦺 "Engineer, have you seen the dog?"
🧱 "Hope it's okay?"
🦺 "Maybe it travelled?"
Travelled where??
The dog didn't even have a known address.
For the first time, I realized something.
The dog was no longer a visitor.
The dog was staff.
Without recruitment.
Without interview.
Without payroll.
And somehow...
Still more punctual than some employees. 🐕😂
